Today, we had the privilege of welcoming kinetic artist Dave Thornburg, who delivered an interactive sculpture, Moving Decisions, commemorating his time as artist-in-residence at The Imagination Lab
In September, he engaged 4th-grade students through hands-on learning at three stations focused on inquiry, exploration of kinetic elements like ball bearings, and the creation of their own sculptures.
Dave Thornburg personally created over 400 bases and specialized bearings. The top of the sculpture was a 3D printed logo of The Imagination Lab.
This hands-on experience not only ignited creativity but also encouraged critical thinking and collaboration among young learners.
