We had some busy bees in The Learning Garden today! Mrs. Colgan's life skills class from Clarks Creek elementary learned about what seeds need to grow and how to sow seeds.
Rows of soil were filled with seeds to sprout carrots, cilantro, turnips, lettuce, and more. Each student took turns planting seeds and watering them.
Their class is going to continue to track the weather and assist with the seed watering process. We made watering cans from recycled materials. The students will be making their own watering cans as well in class!
Once all the seeds have sprouted, our irrigation system will continue to water the plants as they grow throughout the spring season.
