We have new baby chicks in 1st grade!
Our first graders are getting a first hand look! Our wonderful PTO purchased the incubator to hatch the 7 eggs that they got from Lazy 8 Farms. The chicks stayed in the incubator for 21 days. On day 10 and 16, the students got an inside look at the eggs by candling them. When candling they could see and identify the air sac and the embryo. They learned about what was happening each day in the egg, and will be researching and doing reports on chickens.
