Van Buren's Adopt A Classroom match for Hurricane Harvey is a second grade class at Mauriceville Elementary School in Orange, TX. As you can see from the pictures below, their school was devastated by Hurricane Harvey. Last week we collected over 2500 items (ie. books, school supplies, back packs, etc.), $520 in gift cards and cash, welcome back letters written by our fourth graders to each student, and 3 Welcome Back banners. Supplies have been shipped to our friends in Texas. A big thank you goes out to all who donated, whether it was items or time, and a special thank you to Colbey Jones, Jen McCoy, Pamela Reever and Natasha Smith!
