Everyone wonders what administrators and central office personnel could possible do during the summer to stay busy. So we'll take a little photo journey in the coming weeks, beginning with today's recap of Week One.
For starters, our board and meeting rooms were packed all week as elementary teachers met their peers from other buildings to work on curriculum maps for next year. This means that, regardless of which of the four grade schools a child attends, the same lessons and materials are covered at essentially the same time.
Van Buren Elementary is the big construction project of the summer, and work there began almost as soon as the last student filed out of the building last Friday! As you can see, safety fences are in place, the front office has already been moved to the back of the school (a temporary location for the next few months) and work has begun. We're all excited for the fresh updates and the new and more secure front office!
Many academic and athletic camps will begin on Monday, so we expect to have plenty of photos that include students in next week's report!
