Congratulations to Mrs. Megan Johnson for being awarded Central’s Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Johnson has taught for 18 years, all of which have been in 3rd and 4th grade at Central. From a young age she knew that being a teacher was her true calling. It has brought her so much joy over the years.
Mrs. Johnson believes that the relationships she’s built with her students, their families, her colleagues, administrators, and the Plainfield community have enriched her classroom experience in multiple ways. She believes that engagement and student motivation are crucial for academic success, and is passionate about making learning intentional and exciting!
In her classroom, she creates a student-centered, active learning environment filled with innovative activities. Mrs. Johnson’s students dive into hands-on experiences, tackle real-world problems, and develop critical thinking skills—all while building important lifelong competencies and, most importantly, having fun!
