Central Elementary School

This February, the K-Kids of Central Elementary will be helping
the Hendricks County Solid Waste Management District’s Recycle
Heart and Sole shoe recycling program! We hope your family will
help us keep shoes out of our landfills, while at the same time help
those that are less fortunate. In the past Hendricks County Solid
Waste Management has collected as many as 7000 pairs of shoes
and they are wanting to collect even more this year!
We are collecting gently used shoes from February 5th to February
9th. There will be a box in each classroom in which students
can drop off the pairs of donated shoes. After all shoes are collected,
they will be distributed to individuals in need locally and
internationally through Changing Footprints http://
www.changingfootprints.org/
As an extra incentive to show appreciation for school participation,
Hendricks County Solid Waste Management will award prizes!
Prizes will be awarded to the school that collects the most
shoes in each school district.
