With this series, we are featuring stories that focus on Central Elementary’s student clubs. This series, Central Clubs Connection, is meant to give you some insight into Central, beyond just its daily activities and academics.
This week’s focus is on our Running Club, led by teacher Katy Riester and many other Central staff members!
Central Clubs Connection
Spotlight on our Running Club
Running club is an after-school club where students can come, have fun, and stay active while doing exercises that involve running (long and short distances), plyometrics, and strength. Students rotate through different stations to work on different types of exercises. This club is currently offered to 4th and 5th graders in the Fall and in the Spring. They meet once a week from 4pm-5pm. The seasons are usually 4-5 weeks long. This fall season is going to run from September 14th- October 5th. Our Central running club usually has around 50-60 students involved each season. Running club gives all students involved a chance to have fun and stay active while participating in a club. It is kind of like after-school PE! Everyone is welcome, no matter what skill level or experience they've had in the past.
