Enjoy your break!
Looking back at the first semester at Central Elementary...
What a wonderful semester it has been!
Happy Elf Day from Central!
Math snowball fight in Mrs. Bitar's 3rd grade as a part of celebrating "snow day"! So much fun.
Thanks @quakersimagine for a great December Odyssey for our 3rd graders! Artist in Residence Ron Braun led the students in creating their very own comic book! Mr. Braun wrote the comic and a "thumbnail Sketch" for each student and then the students were off to create!
CONGRATULATIONS! Central's Battle of the Books team "Better Name Than That (Again)" won the district-wide competition this morning! We are so proud of you all and happy to return the trophy to Central!
5th grade practicing their math skills with a comparing fractions battle!
Thanks to @cumberlandtrace.us for allowing our Central Ambassadors to carol tonight! Both the students and the residents had such a great time!
December 16th and 17th are school-wide-themed dress-up days for Central staff and students!
Central's final two teams battled it out on Friday in front of all of Central's 3rd-5th graders in the final of the Battle of the Books. Congratulations to the 7th Bog Mac Division and Better Name Than That (Again)!
Winning by only one point, Better Name Than That (Again) will be competing at the administration building against the finalist from the other Plainfield elementary schools this Friday!
We love when @phsquakers come to visit and teach our students lessons in different languages!
5th grade students got to test out their skills adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators in order to get the correct measurements for ingredients to make SLIME!
5th grade students are gearing up for their field trip to Biztown before winter break! They recently took part in interviews for the jobs that they would like to have at Biztown.
Congratulations to our value winner, Renee! We are proud of you.
Have you ever read "Balloons Over Broadway"? Students at Central LOVE reading this book around Thanksgiving time! Different grade levels engage in a variety of activities from a balloon parade imitating the real Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade to a parade focused on gratitude and thankfulness. We love seeing all of the creativity throughout the entire school!
Wishing all of our families a wonderful break!
Congratulations to Central's very own Lula Avery, 3rd grader in Mrs. Todd's class. She won the Circle of Lights coloring contest and will flip the switch downtown on Friday evening!
