2024-2025 New /Transfer Student Registration

Please note: you only need to complete the background check ONE time even if you wish to volunteer in more than one Plainfield school.
REGISTERING YOUR CHILD FOR SCHOOL
NOTE: Online registration must be completed using a web browser; it will not work if you use the PowerSchool mobile app.
Beginning on February 1st, registration will be open for all students for the 2024-2025 year. This online process includes:
Transfer student applications (Grades K-12), which will be accepted until June 1,
Pre-school (Little Quakers Academy) registration (see the LQA page for more details)
Kindergarten registration
Indiana law states that children must be five years old on or before August 1st of the enrolling school year
While very few children qualify for Early Entrance to Kindergarten, the exceptional child who is both academically ready and developmentally mature may be considered
Parents who wish to begin this conversation should call their child's school
Returning student registration, and
Students new to Plainfield beginning with the 2024-2025 school year
If you are registering a student for the first time in Plainfield, you will need to provide the documents listed below. These may be uploaded through our online registration process. If you prefer to bring them to the school in-person, please call the school to schedule a time to do so.
Birth Certificate
Health Records
Proof of Custody (if applicable)
IEP, required for all Special Education students (if applicable)
Proof of Residency (it is necessary to provide option A along with B and/or C):
A. Current lease/rental agreement, purchase agreement or property tax statement
B. Active and current utility bill
C. Valid IN Driver's License/State ID with current address (or copy of parent driver's license or state ID)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR PARENTS REQUESTING TRANSFER STATUS OF A STUDENT
The transfer application window is from February 1 through June 1
Transportation will NOT be provided for transfer students
Families who applied for transfer status will be contacted sometime after the June School Board meeting to confirm their status
Placement of students in buildings will not take place until late July
Transfer students will be assigned a school based on enrollment, not on parent request
Once your child has been assigned to a school (in late July), we will forward your paperwork to that school
At that time, you will be able to call the school to schedule a tour

Plainfield Community School Corporation consists of a pre-school, five elementary schools (K-5), the middle school (6-8), and the high school (9-12). Enrollment for grades K-12 is approximately 5800 students. Students are assigned to an elementary based on their home address.
