Danielle Bell & Jessica Elston, school board members for Plainfield Community School Corporation, have been recognized by the Indiana School Boards Association (ISBA) with an Exemplary Governance Award for calendar year 2023, for demonstrating outstanding commitment to professional learning and student success.
Mrs. Bell, first vice president, received a Level 2 award, one of only 78 in the state of Indiana while Mrs. Elston, board president, received a Level 1 award, one of only 109 in the state of Indiana.
The Exemplary Governance Awards (EGA) are given out annually by the Indiana School Boards Association to school boards and school board members across four levels of distinction.
“On behalf of ISBA, I would like to commend this most exceptional group of school board members,” said ISBA Executive Director Terry Spradlin. “School boards perform a vital public service, and members who actively participate in professional learning are better equipped to perform their duties effectively and meet the needs of their students.”
Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Elston received their awards on Tuesday, April 23 during the Spring Regional Meeting in Greencastle, IN. “These individuals are leading the way as models who strive for effective school board governance, and they should be proud of their accomplishments,” said ISBA President Rebecca Gardenour.
Join us in congratulating Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Elston on their accomplishments! Their dedication to Plainfield’s students is shown in all they do.
