This weekend, the College GameDay crew were not the only stars in Bloomington, IN.
Brentwood Elementary had 38 students who were chosen to be recognized during the IU football game for the Stars of Honor Program.
The Stars of Honor award was created to recognize students for their outstanding achievements both inside and outside the classroom, and to encourage students throughout the U.S. to strive for greatness and become leaders in our communities.
At Brentwood, the Stars of Honor students were those who had been nominated by their teacher as a value award winner during the first 2 months of school. These are students who show excellence in their attitude, actions and achievements, as well as showcasing the Plainfield values.
Students who were chosen were given the opportunity to attend the IU Football game with their families. Students were given a special certificate once they arrived on campus. They were also able to tour the Hall of Champions, Memorial Stadium, and were given opportunities for some special game day photographs. During the game, the Stars of Honor students were asked to stand and the crowd gave them a standing ovation!! With a sold-out crowd, you can imagine it was very loud cheers for these amazing kids!
