Gold Rating

Gold RatingWe believe in educating the whole child—nurturing not just academic success but also creativity, passion, and self-expression. Our Plainfield Community Middle School fine arts students exemplified this commitment as they showcased their musical talents at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Organizational Contest this March.

On March 14th and 15th, an incredible 502 PCMS students performed at Monrovia High School, representing our band and orchestra programs. These students have been diligently preparing since the beginning of the semester, working on three pieces of music to present to a panel of three judges. Their hard work, dedication, and love for music were evident in their outstanding results:

🎶 Gold Ratings with Distinction were awarded to:

  • 6th Grade Band & Orchestra

  • Concert Band

  • Symphonic Band

  • Simphonia Orchestra

  • Philharmonic Orchestra (which earned two perfect scores in the highest difficulty level!)

🎵 Gold Ratings were awarded to:

  • Intermediate Band

  • Wind Ensemble

  • Prelude Orchestra

  • Camerata Orchestra

Adding to this success, on March 8th, the PCMS Jazz Band performed in the ISSMA jazz competition and also received a Gold Rating with Distinction!

We are incredibly proud of all our students who participated in these events. Their dedication to the fine arts reflects the importance of fostering creativity, discipline, and teamwork—essential elements of a well-rounded education.

Congratulations to all our talented musicians, and thank you for sharing your gifts with our school and community! 🎶👏
