Happy Holidays to our Central families!
Kindergartners are celebrating holidays around the world throughout the month of December! Here they are learning about Chinese New Year and St. Nicholas Day.
5th grade students have been diving deep into analyzing characters and their traits while reading literature. Mrs. Harris’ class recently dove so deep that they performed “character autopsies” where the students dug below the surface to describe their given character. Bringing Joy to Learning!
First grade students learned about bees recently! They read many books and the students researched. After writing, they created their own bees!
1st graders learned all about car seat and seat belt safety at their Imagination Lab Odyssey!
Did you know that our Central students have been participating in a school wide reading challenge for the past week and a half? Each grade level came up with a goal number of books or minutes read that would earn a cotton ball for their teacher’s Santa beard to grow. At the end of the challenge, the class in each grade level who has the longest teacher beard will win a class dance glow party!
5th graders learned about chemical reactions while creating their own invisible ink at their December Odyssey to the Imagination Lab!
Central students have paired up with the PHS boys basketball team to be pen pals! Each class at Central has a high schooler on the team that they will write letters back and forth with. What a fun way for our students to continue to grow their writing skills while also connecting with our PHS student athletes! 🏀📝
5th graders learning and practicing their 4 square skills during P.E. time with our wonderful Ms. Smith!
Kindergarteners enjoyed reading The Gingerbread Man and then using the 4C’s to create a boat for him that would actually float!
It's Battle of the Books time! Each of our elementary schools will compete against one another today to see who is the district Battle of the Books Champion!
Want to watch? We'll start streaming it on YouTube around 10:15... here's the link!

We love our holly jolly lunch crew! They work so hard daily and ALWAYS have a smile on their faces!
3rd graders enjoyed reading and learning about the Titanic recently. They even got to experience what it would be like to be a passenger in the different classes of the ship. Here students are enjoying their first class tea time meal!
5th grade enjoyed their field trip to JA Biztown! Students visited this simulated town which gave them the opportunity to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, vote for mayor, and much more!
“Today a reader, tomorrow a leader”
We LOVE our library time at Central! Mrs. Price is always helping our kiddos find *just* the right book and it is so fun to watch them dig in to their reading!
1st graders read “Balloons Over Broadway” to learn about how the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade first originated. Then, students created their very own balloon float and enjoyed walking the halls of Central for their very own Thanksgiving Parade!
Central families had a great time at our Special Person Night before Thanksgiving! It wouldn't have been possible without our amazingly supportive and creative PTO!
4th year foreign language students from PHS visited Central students before Thanksgiving to teach them a little about their language they’ve been learning! Our Central students loved spending time with the “big kids” 🙂
Have a wonderful break! We look forward to seeing the students next Monday, November 28th.
Do you know about the Snake-Haired Monster? I bet our 5th graders could tell you about the myth of Perseus and Medusa!
