3rd graders in all 4 classrooms have been reading Who Was? biographies with a partner and then creating their very own research biography of their influential person. They've really enjoyed learning about athletes, scientists, artists, activists, Native Americans, writers, and more!

At the conclusion of our Literacy Week and One School, One Book (students read "Life According to Og the Frog") students had the opportunity to eat like Og the Frog by tasting a boiled cricket!
Thanks to our amazing Central Elementary for such a wonderful and engaging Literacy Week and Literacy Night last week! Families loved coming to Central "after hours" to have some fun reading with "Let's Glow Read" night!

4th and 5th grade students love having the opportunity to participate in our Battle of the Books competition yearly. This afternoon, the two final teams competed to be Central's champion. Tomorrow, the champs from each elementary will battle it out for the district wide Battle of the Books trophy! Good luck to all teams!
Did you know that when students celebrated their 100th day of school for this school year that the 5th graders were also attending their 1,000th day of school?! Our 5th grade students and teachers had so much fun with this special day just for them.

Monday was Ugly Sweater Day at Central!
Today we celebrated elf day at Central! This tradition was started many years ago by former elementary principal, Mr. Underwood. We (and all of the elementary schools) love continuing the tradition every December.
The Grinch even made an appearance at lunchtime today!
